The Architecture and Design Network renamed its programming series this week to the June Freeman Lecture Series, honoring June Freeman as she announced her retirement from her work for the nonprofit. An experienced arts administrator, curator, arts writer and long-time arts advocate, June Freeman was instrumental in founding the Architecture and Design Network. She conceived of the Art of Architecture lecture series and, since its inception in 2004, has, with input from an advisory committee, been responsible for each year's programming and its implementation. The effort has had, from its beginning, the support of the Fay Jones School of Architecture, the Central Arkansas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock. The ADN board of directors will continue to oversee the programming for the series.
