Support for Paris and France dominated social media this week following the tragic loss of life from terrorist bombings. The photo above was shared on Twitter by Marth Myrick-Weishet.
Chris and Roxanne Braithwaite, while restoring their home on Gaines Street this past week, found something very special... an old bottle made for Frank Barbour Coffin. Coffin was an African-American pharmacist who owned and operated one of the earliest drug stores in that area. He called the drug store Children's Drug Store because he tutored neighborhood kids there in the early 1900's. He also wrote two books of poetry that are listed in the Library of Congress list of Early African American poets.
Many will be donning aprons this next week preparing for Thanksgiving meals. Mary Ann Stafford painted her version of the occasion "With Strings Attached" and can be seen at Gallery 221.
