HACSB's Workforce Housing Program

Dear Member,

The Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara (HACSB) would like to direct your attention to affordable rental apartments under our Workforce Housing Program. As a local business, we would like to share this information with you so that your employees are made aware of existing and upcoming affordable rental housing opportunities.

Since 2003, HACSB has developed affordable rental apartments in the Santa Barbara area in an effort to address the affordable housing needs of our community's low to moderate income workforce. Our newest development, Bradley Studios, is currently being constructed at 512 Bath Street and is due to be completed December of 2012. Bradley Studios will add 54 affordable studio units to our community, some of which will be targeted for applicants employed in the City of Santa Barbara within specified boundaries (see map on reverse side). Our other Workforce Housing developments include Artisan Court, Casa de las Fuentes, Paseo Voluntario, and the Garden Street Apartments as well as other scattered sites within the City of Santa Barbara.

HACSB's Workforce Housing Program targets individuals who are gainfully employed a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week.   Some are targeted to persons employed within specified boundaries; however there are also units without this restriction. The apartment sizes range from studios to 3-bedrooms and the income limits for the program are set at 30% to 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) based upon household/family size. Rent levels for the program range from $408 per month and up, dependent upon bedroom size and household income. For some properties, applicants who do not own or use a car or other vehicle will receive a preference on the waiting list.

For more information about the Housing Authority's Workforce Housing Program, please call 965-1071. To apply, you may pick up a Workforce Housing Program application at our office, or visit www.hacsb.org

Sincerely,

HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE
