Honoree Nomination Deadline: April 22

The Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation (DSIC) and City of Schenectady are partnering for a second year to present the 2016 Hometown Heroes Banner Program. This program proudly recognizes active duty and veteran servicepersons from the City.

Nominate an Honoree!
A number of corporate sponsors are looking for honorees to be featured on their banners. Do you know someone who meets the criteria? Submit the required information to Colleen Merays at the DSIC by April 22. All nominees will go into a lottery to be selected for a banner.

Mainstage - Since Justin Spencer formed Recycled Percussion in 1995, the band has been unstoppable. Their junk rock music became a national phenomenon week after week during their smash hit performances on America's Got Talent in 2009.

GE Theatre   - Over 40 years in the making, and never before screened theatrically, this legendary 1973 concert tour captured the Mothers at the height of their creative powers. Presented by It Came From Schenectady.

Registration is now open for the summer programs at Proctors.

In conjunction with the the summer performing arts program, an audition will be held on April 18 for the performance of All Shook Up. Ages 14-19. The show will be performed on the Mainstage at Proctors in August.

The Empire State Sports Council (ES Sports), a Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Organization based in Clifton Park, is kicking off the first year of its newest annual event, the Empire State Corporate Challenge, with a Dodgeball Tournament at the Schenectady Armory.  Registration Ends April 14.

A fundraiser to help three organizations that help fight food insecurity in Schenectady: City Mission of Schenectady, Bethesda House, and Concerned for the Hungry. Every participant receives a delicious dinner donated by local restaurants, and their choice of a hand made ceramic bowl, which serves as a symbol of the many people in our community who go home to "empty bowls" at meal time.

Escape winter's chill and discover hundreds of brilliantly colored native butterflies at miSci's indoor butterfly house, flying about (and possibly landing on you!) as miSci 
re-creates their habitat - the edge of an open field with flowers and trees. Be sure to stop at the chrysalis chamber to see the butterflies as they emerge.
