Schenectady Smiles Photo Contest
Enter Through July 27

Show your community pride by submitting up to five photos featuring the City of Schenectady in each of the following five categories: Category #1 - Diversity, Category #2 - Community Vitality, Category #3 - Natural Environment, Category #4 - Architecture/Urban Design, Category #5 - Businesses & Organizations. Submit via The Daily Gazette's website.

Winners will be chosen by a committee of community judges. There will also be an online voting component for the general public to vote for the People's Choice Awards. A Schenectady Smiles Awards Ceremony and Pep Rally will take place on August 17 at Schenectady City Hall. Rules & category explanations.

Riders and residents are invited to Schenectady's first community demonstration project showcasing street-level bicycle improvements designed to increase safety and connectivity. The temporary installation is part of a larger effort to update the City's Bicycle Infrastructure Plan.

NYS Assemblyman James Tedisco takes on defending champ  Leesa Perazzo, President of the Schenectady City Council, in the Battle of the Bartenders' fourth event organized by the Kiwanis Club of Schenectady to raise money for local youth service programs.

Community Needs Assessment Public Survey
The City of Schenectady is in the process of completing a HUD Community Needs Assessment to help identify the City's priority needs and opportunities. Information gathered through Community Roundtables and this Community Survey will be used to develop a 2-year Action Plan. The survey has 30 questions and should take 10-15 minutes, all responses are anonymous and every comment received by July 15, 2016, will be considered and recorded.
