Schenectady Smiles Photo Contest
Final Week for Submissions!
Enter Through July 27

Show your community pride by submitting up to five photos featuring the City of Schenectady in each of the following five categories: Category #1 - Diversity, Category #2 - Community Vitality, Category #3 - Natural Environment, Category #4 - Architecture/Urban Design, Category #5 - Businesses & Organizations. Submit via The Daily Gazette's website.

Winners will be chosen by a committee of community judges. There will also be an online voting component for the general public to vote for the People's Choice Awards. A Schenectady Smiles Awards Ceremony and Pep Rally will take place on August 17 at Schenectady City Hall.

Hometown Heroes Banner Program

State Street & Around City Hall

Now in its second year, the Hometown Heroes Banner Program honors veterans and active duty service members from the City of Schenectady. Each banner features an individual's photo, name, and branch of service. Sponsored by companies, organizations, and families, the banners will be displayed on light poles along State Street and around City Hall until just after Veterans Day.

A map of banner locations and brief biographies of many honorees can be viewed and downloaded on the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation's website. Major sponsorship provided by SEFCU.
