Schenectady's annual Citywide Open House & H.O.M.E.S. Fair has a new component for 2016: The Downtown Residential Tour! 

Not only will you be able to tour a variety of neighborhood homes in Schenectady for purchase, but several new residential developments in Downtown Schenectady will showcase their upscale apartments and amenities. The self-guided tour will begin at the Jay Street Marketplace, where you can pick up maps. A variety of vendors will also be on hand for you to gather resources and ask questions about home buying. Schenectady Smiles Photo Contest
June 15 - July 27

Show your community pride by submitting up to five photos featuring the City of Schenectady in each of the following five categories: Category #1 - Diversity, Category #2 - Community Vitality, Category #3 - Natural Environment, Category #4 - Architecture/Urban Design, Category #5 - Businesses & Organizations. Submit via The Daily Gazette's website.

Winners will be chosen by a committee of community judges. There will also be an online voting component for the general public to vote for the People's Choice Awards. A Schenectady Smiles Awards Ceremony and Pep Rally will take place on August 17 at Schenectady City Hall. Rules & category explanations.
