Schenectady Civic Players
The play explodes in two outrageous acts set fifty years apart. Act One takes place in 1959, as white community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Complications arise when the show unexpectedly turns out to be successful. In typical Mel Brooks style, the outrageous humor spares nobody and draws on ridiculous accents; caricatures of gays, neurotics, and Nazis; and many show business in-jokes.
