CMSC Looking for Next CEO 
As you may have seen, CMSC's Board of Directors recently announced that the Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group (NPAG), a regionally and nationally-recognized full-service executive search firm, is conducting the search for a new Chief Executive Officer to take the helm when John Simone retires this August.

CMSC is Connecticut's central resource for downtown revitalization and management, providing technical support, regional cooperation, training, and networking to members as well as public and private leaders across the state. Our ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader in community and economic development with a natural ability to form and advance coalitions and strategic partnerships.

CMSC Webinar Presents Practical Advice on Using Tax Increment Financing in Your Downtown

Creative Communities Exchange Coming to New London in June  

The New England Foundation for the Arts has opened registration for CCX 2017 - the Creative Communities Exchange. C CX is a biennial event that rotates among different New England communities, serving as bridge between the creative sector and community development.

This year's conference takes place in June in New London and is hosted locally by the Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition. It will feature creative economy sessions focused on long-range projects that foster economic development through the arts. Register today. . .

March iForum to Discuss First/Last Mile
Register now for the Partnership for Strong Communities' next iForum,  First/Last Mile: Ensuring Transit Opportunities Are Shared By All , on March 31st.

Topics will highlight the challenges and solutions to the first and last mile in light of new transit options coming on line in Connecticut, and will include a demonstration of the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technologies' (CCAT) interactive JobTraCT tool, linking job seekers with transportation options. CT Places Coalition Advocacy Day is March 29th at the Capitol

Activities include a morning advocacy workshop presented by the New England Museum Association, an afternoon legislative briefing, legislative visits, a call to action, and a Pop Up Exhibit featuring 30+ displays from museums, historical societies, libraries, archives, preservation groups and much more.
