PROFILE OF PROMENADE VENDORS 

 

 

JEM'S BARBECUE

Jody Matheson is a graduate of Liaison College and has created a Special Gore Park Promenade Sandwich from his Food cart that uses thick slices of grilled Black Forest Ham or Salami to create his luncheon specials.  He also offers a variety of salads, pop and water as well.  He hopes to bring in grilled corn in season in the next few weeks so watch for that to come.

 

BRANDINI'S TRIXS

Brandon Belliveau is a local magician and has been performing to a variety of audiences for about 6 years.  He is in the park every day performing magical card tricks for everyone's enjoyment and wants to promote his Summer Company business for birthday and corporate parties, and any other event that could use his talents.  Come check him out in the park.

 

KATZ JEWELRY

Katrina Idczak is a talented artist specializing in creating beautiful jewellery from crystals.  She has been creating her specialty of crystal pendants since 2006.  She is in Gore Park every Friday.

 


DOWNTOWN BIA RESPONDS TO CITY'S RECENT LRT ACTIONS

The Downtown Hamilton BIA has sent a letter to the Mayor and Members of Council urging them to continue to push for LRT funding to complete the planning process for the LRT project for Hamilton.  The Board believes that LRT is an important part of our commercial viability and that the Downtown community would be better served with an efficient, modern and exciting transit system.

BUSINESSES OPEN ON KING WILLIAM

Road Closed   

Sidewalks are open and passable for King William businesses between James and Hughson off James Street North.  For businesses on King William from Hughson to John the road and sidewalks have not been affected and you can have easy access to them from John Street. it is hoped that you will support those businesses in these next few weeks as many have been affected by the construction.

NEW CBC SHOW SEARCHING FOR CANADIAN BUSINESSES

The producers of the Dragons' Den are on the hunt for interested Canadian companies to participate in an exciting new business show.  In this new series, some of the country's top investors will spend their time and money to help these companies get back on their feet.  The company must have been in operatin for at least 3 - 5 years or more, have gross revenues of $500,000 on average, have more than 5 employees, be registered in Canada and be willing to be filmed for up to a 2 week period.  Applications are being accepted until August 12, 2011.  For more information send an email to bigdecision@cbc.ca

LAST WEEKEND TO FRINGE

fRINGE  

It all goes by so fast...this is the last week for the Hamilton Fringe Festival with many performances receiving rave reviews from both critics and the public at large.  4 separate venues with 28 plays sprinkled with fabulous restaurants between the Downtown Art Centre on Rebecca St and Theatre Aquarius on King William.  Sounds like a fun night out to me.  Check out the schedule at www.hamiltonfringe.ca 

NEXT SEASON'S BROADWAY SHOW SERIES ANNOUNCED

Next season's Broadway Series was announced this week with some fantastic Broadway plays coming to the Hamilton Place stage.  This year Stoney Creek Furniture is proud to be this years sponsor for some great Tony Award winning Broadway classics.  They include Mamma Mia on Nov 9th, 2011, My Fair Lady on Dec 13th, 2011, Riverdance on April 18th, 2012, Cats on May 8, 2012 and Young Frankenstein on May 28th, 2012.  Season packages start as low as $75.  An "Early Bird" savings of $10 off per package is also available for a limited time.  For ticket information call (905) 546-4085 or visit www.hecfi.ca  

SUPERCRAWL LOOKING FOR VENDORS 

 

 

 

The James North Supercrawl organizers are looking for more vendors for this year's event which will take place on Saturday, September 10th on James Street North.  The street will be closed from York to Murray Streets.  Over 30,000 are expected to attend this year's event and it will be a great opportunity for you to promote your product, service or artistic endeavour.
