Dr. Jack Hayford Receives Church Statesmanship Award |
Dear Visionary Leader, In 1995, at the Preaching Symposium sponsored by Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, one of the main presenters was Dr. Jack Hayford, former President of Foursquare Church, Founder of Church on the Way and Kings College. At this preaching symposium, Dr. Hayford taught a preaching truth that has such impact, every pastor needs to hear it. He said, "'Divine Inspiration' literally means, 'God's breath.' The words on the paper represent the breath of God. As preachers we are to inhale the breath of God in our prayer and study so we can exhale in our preaching and teaching. You cannot give out what you have first not taken in." At our first Global Pastors Conference in January, 2002, Dr. Hayford was our first presenter to more than 5,000 pastors who had chosen to come from every state in our nation and more than 20 nations worldwide. Immediately following his presentation, the late Dr. Jerry Falwell shared his classic message on "Vision." This was the first time that Dr. Hayford and Dr. Falwell had ever shared the same platform in ministry. It was in this context that the Billion Soul Network was born. Last week, Jack Hayford received the Global Church Statesmanship Award from the Billion Soul Network at the annual Foursquare Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. This prestigious award was given on behalf of the 225 CoChairs, 1,300 denominations and 400,000 churches involved in the Network. Dr. Hayford has demonstrated impeccable visionary leadership through serving interdenominationally for more than forty years. |
Immediately following the Foursquare Convention, Glenn Burris and James O. Davis presented the Global Church Learning Center to key national and international leaders from ninety-six nations. Every major world region was represented in this historic gathering. In the next three years, all of the Twenty Core Courses and the first Twenty Electives will be translated into the top thirty languages.
