Dear St. George Families,

Catholic school students continue to score higher than average on standardized tests compared to other students' scores across the nation - both public and private. St. George students are no exception to this. Our children excel because of our supporting parents, dedicated professional staff, and high expectations we have on success and learning. Here's the bonus - Catholic faith education woven throughout the curriculum. Not only do we set our standards high in regard to academics, we establish a foundation rooted in the Gospel. As the children grow in their Catholic faith, they develop respect, empathy, character, work ethics, morals, manners, values, friendships, beliefs, and positive self-worth. Thank you for supporting Catholic education, because we have what it takes to make a difference in this world by instilling in our youth what it means to be a child of God, called to be a part of His global mission.

I look forward to seeing you Saturday night at our parish/school auction at the L'Auberge Grand Ballroom.

Yours in education and faith,
Jack  Nelson

GIRLS NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM - GRADES 4-6

The LSU College of Science and the LSU Museum of Natural Science (MNS) are hosting its first ever  Girls Night at the Museum on Friday, March 9th  and would like to invite girls enrolled in grades 4 through 6 at St. George School to apply to participate in this event.

Our Girls Night at MNS activity occurs just in time for Women's History Month in March and gives us an opportunity to expose girls in grades 4 through 6 to science and math related research at LSU. The evening will begin with guided tours of the museum specimens, followed by a "STEM chat and snack" with some of LSU's outstanding women researchers from the College of Science, the MNS, and Pennington Biomedical Research. The girls will also enjoy science experience stations with fun, hands-on demonstrations of a variety of science concepts presented by the university's award-winning Chem Demo program, Veterinary Medicine, the Museum of Natural Science, the departments of biological sciences, geology and geophysics, mathematics, physics and astronomy, and the LSU Herbarium.

More information can be found below or at www.lsu.edu/GirlsNightatMNS. The activity is free of charge and food will be provided.

The deadline to apply is February 16th.
