Easter Blessings
to all!
Dear St George families,

A little girl looked across the table and asked, "Do you know what I like best about coming to school?" Her friend replied, "What?" She answered, "Seeing you." At that moment, as she smiled, I saw the face of Jesus. Some older students reflected on what
Faith, Hope, and Love mean to them. The students said that faith is God, and faith is trusting in Him. It is the church and all that it teaches us. Faith is the season of Lent. Hope means being thankful, having dreams and wishing. Hope is looking forward to new beginnings. Love - this was the easiest one to respond to. Maybe that's why it's the greatest of the three...or maybe it's because this is the one they have had the most experience with. Regardless - two of the students immediately and simultaneously shouted out "family!" Some said they think of friends and community when they think of love. And others think of peace and life. At the end of our conversation the students told me why they think Love is the greatest of these: "...because...God loves all of us...and it means so much! We need to learn this from Jesus...who also loves us no matter what." Again, at that moment, I saw the face of Jesus.
I try to look for Jesus every day, but when I am in my busy principal state of mind, I fail to really see Him. We know He is always near us - sometimes right under our noses, shining through the words or actions of a child or looking us straight in the eyes as a stranger holds the door open for us. Perhaps it's a loved one simply sitting at our side - listening. If we look hard enough, we will find Him. And when we do, it is then that we can enjoy the precious moments together. I hope and pray that you have a blessed Easter filled with love, laughter and the light of Christ.

God bless,
Jack Nelson
