DIG to Honor Miami's Green Innovators at its Annual Fundraiser

DIG is pleased to announce the 2016 Green Innovators to be honored at the Living the Dream Annual Fundraiser o Thursday, November 10th from 7 to 11 p.m.  at The Palms Hotel & Spa. T he Green Innovator Awards was launched in 2007 to recognize outstanding companies and individuals for their leadership, vision and environmental stewardship in South Florida. The U.S EPA Awards Environmental Education Grant to DIG

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced that Dream in Green is the recipient of the 2016 Region 4 Environmental Education Grant and will receive funding to support the development and implementation of the Dream in Green Academy programs including  the Green Schools Challenge, Water and Energy Learning and Behavior (WE-LAB) Schools, WE-LAB Community, and Green Leadership Grants.   Learn More
  
Expanding WE-LAB 

DI G's  WE-LAB (Water and Energy - Learning and Behavior) program has had a busy and exciting fall. The Dream in Green Academy kicked off its semester with 26 schools participating as WE-LAB Schools, 10 more than last year. Thanks to funding received from the Community Foundation of Broward, WE-LAB expanded and made its official debut in Broward County. More recently,  DIG received funding from the Environmental Protection Agency which will allow DIG to offer 10 free WE-LAB workshops in Miami-Dade at schools, libraries and/or community centers. The Underline Park Will Make Use of Unused Shade-Filled Spaces 

Friends of The Underline will be receiving an award from Dream in Green on November 10th because of its creative proposal to transform an area in Miami into a mobility corridor that will promote healthier and greener lifestyles. But how did this idea develop? Meg Daly, Founder of the organization, walked home from a train station in Miami one day and had an inspiration that could change how people look at parks in the f uture.
