Market Token Program
|
|
Shopping at the Druid Hill Farmers' Market is easier and available to more people as the market accepts
SNAP/
Independence Card benefits as well as Women, Infants, and Children Fruit and Vegetable Checks (
WIC FVC), and Farmers Market Nutrition Program (
FMNP) vouchers for seniors and WIC.
These additional payment options, along with accepting
cash, credit and debit cards, allow the market to offer more ways to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.
At the market, customers wishing to pay through one of benefits programs or credit and debit cards go to the Friends of Druid Hill Park tent, where a volunteer will accept the form of payment. Customers then receive tokens to use at participating vendors.
Tokens come in $1 (SNAP/Independence Card) and $5 (debit/credit) increments.
