 February 5, 2018

This morning has me in a Valentine's mindset, which is probably good since this year it shares the calendar with Ash Wednesday and I need a head start.   Before school, I (I mean Allen) finished up his "about me" poster, and then after he left I set to work on some Valentine's treats for his preschool class.  As I'm inscribing tags with names of sweet little preschoolers, I'm reminded of how God knows each of us.  He knows our hearts, hears our prayers, and calls us by name.  I barely had time to get the tags on before Iris scooted over to help.  But God always has time for us.  He cares for us.  He waits on us to call on Him so He can have an active hand in our lives.
But what really got me is that I was making treats for every single one of Allen's classmates, even those he might not always get along with.  Even those who he thinks aren't good friends.  God cares for those people, too.  Those people that you meet daily who don't have the knowledge or the gift of God's love in their lives.  That's where we come in.  As disciples of Christ it's our job to carry that gift of love and give it to those who need it most.  And the good news is you don't even have to cut out and address name tags.
