Making New Year's Resolutions is a long standing tradition. How can I be a better, healthier person in the coming year? Resolutions range from "I am going to exercise more," to "I will begin to tithe". In 1738, John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, gave three simple rules to make clear the connection between saving faith and Christian behavior for his societies, those small groups of those who gathered for study, prayer, and self-examination   First, "Do no harm".   Will this action harm others or myself in any way? Second, "Do good".  Be kind and merciful at every opportunity, doing good in every way you can. And third, "Attend to the ordinances of God". Grow in your relationship with God by being faithful to public worship, prayer, Communion, study of Scripture, and fasting or abstinence.
"Do no harm. Do good. Attend to the ordinances of God. (Stay in love with God." If you have not yet made any resolutions, these three simple life rules from John Wesley just might be the right for you.

Grace & freedom,
Ellis

Construction Update
Having Christmas over and New Years approaching, work days have been somewhat abbreviated, but the schedule is still in sight. They have been working on the stairs from the second floor of Byrd Hall to the first that will also serve as a fire escape after the demolition. That schedule remains for the northern portion of Byrd Hall to be removed just after New Year's Day. Prayers for Kyle's grandson. Kyle has been on the project since the first day. His grandson was born weighing less than two pounds. The best to all in the New Year.
