A newsletter of the
Kinship Care Education Center (KCEC)
April 12, 2012

Greetings!

Thank you for supporting kinship care in Michigan by taking interest in our newsletter! The brink of Spring is always a time of excitement. Most of us welcome the warmer weather, however this time of year also presents its own set of challenges for kinship caregivers. At the Kinship Care Education Center, we aim to continue to provide support for the physical, emotional, cultural, and social well-being of those that we work with.

Continue to visit our website and look for us to be making some new and exciting changes in the next few months.

Additionally, we have joined the world of Twitter! You can follow us by clicking on the icon below or you can just add us at @KinshipCareMI. Our goal with the Twitter page is to pass along interesting articles, inform you of events across Michigan, and to give another medium to which we can be contacted by. We look forward to you following us.

If you have any thoughts or ideas please let us know by e-mailing us at kinship@msu.edu.

Thanks,

 - KCEC Staff

Support Groups -

Calling All Support Groups!

We want to hear from you! If you are a member of a support group, run a group, or make referrals to groups in your area we would love to have your information. Our center gets calls from kinship caregivers across the state, and many of them are interested in becoming involved in a support group. Support groups, by nature, are difficult to search out and keep tabs on. As we work to provide the most comprehensive, state-wide list of support groups possible, you can help us out by sending us your info.

If you would like to share information about your support group with us, send us an email at kinship@msu.edu. Please include your contact person's name, city, meeting location, meeting days/time, and any other information you wish to provide.

Thank you for helping us connect kinship caregivers to local support systems!
