So far, the WUWM Newsroom and Lake Effect
team have been honored with 25 awards for work completed in 2011. The honors include 15 first place awards from state and regional competitions.
The awards recognize WUWM's coverage of the major political developments of the past year, from policy shifts and protests to unprecedented recall elections. WUWM's journalists and producers were also honored for their environmental coverage, enterprising features and Project Milwaukee
