Christ Church, Oberlin E-News
June 27, 2018

Stevens Painting has been busy prepping, priming, and painting the office.  Below is a sneak peak at the newly painted Library.  During renovations, we are still open for business in the lower level of the Parish Hall.

In last Sunday's gospel reading we heard about Jesus calming the tumultuous sea.  It is hoped that this small statue of Jesus gracing Mary McGill's computer will have a similar calming effect on the tumult of our temporary office space in the lower level of the Parish Hall.  Please continue to be patient with us over these next few weeks during the office renovation.

Vacation Bible School:
Peace Lab

Father Greg midweek of VBS

The theme of this year's Vacation Bible School may be "Peace Lab" but it's been bustling with youthful, lively, energetic activity!

22 kids from 2 parishes and the wider community have participated under the leadership of Fr. Greg, Rev. June, 10 youth volunteers, and 8 adults.

Bible stories + songs + games + creative snacks (related to each story's theme) + an ongoing art project = making us all better Peacemakers!

Father Brian is on sabbatical and will be away from the parish until October 14.  If you need pastoral care please call the parish office (440-775-2501) during office hours.  At other times please call Fr. Gregory Stark (208-891-5548) or Senior Warden Alison Ricker (440-346-2603).

Communication
 during  Fr. Brian's Sabbatical...

During Fr. Brian's sabbatical it is of the utmost importance to have clear communication throughout our parish community.

The staff, wardens, and vestry are committed to making sure information is shared as frequently and efficiently as possible.

During these next four months, stay connected, stay informed and STAY IN THE BOAT!

Credo Musicians at Christ Church, Sunday June 24

Request from Credo:
Credo Music Festival, an Oberlin-based, Christ-centered music program for high school and college students, is sending its gifted young musicians throughout Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties to do community service. They will be giving concerts in venues including assisted living facilities and hospitals, and will be working in settings ranging from Habitat for Humanity to local food banks.  Volunteer drivers are still needed to take the students to community service projects on
July 12 and July 19.  Contact Emily at 440-774-3658 or
