On May 14, 2018 Chris Meyers led a group of volunteers from Stream Team 5614 to pull 16 tires from the Dardenne Creek in Cottleville. The process took 2 hours! They were set on top of the bank, and the Cottleville Parks and Public Works Department grounds crew disposed of them in hopes they could be recycled. Stream Team 5614 will be back to pull approximately 20 to 30 more tires when time allows. Thank you Stream team 5614 for helping clean up Cottleville Creeks!

Due to its popularity, plans are underway to expand the Dog Park by extending the fenced area and adding additional resting/seating areas. The dog park
expansion bid process will begin in August and construction should begin this fall. In addition, a connector trail is planned to be constructed at Harmony Lake Parkway and Centre Lake Drive making the existing Podhorn Memorial Trail complete. The bidding process for the connector trail is underway and construction should begin this summer.

During a bid process, a contractor has been selected for the construction improvements to Fifth Street in hi
storic old town Cottleville. Design and right of way is now complete. Design and right of way is currently under way for improvements to the Chestnut Street and Main Street area. Both of these improvements could include an improved storm water system, curbs, sidewalks, parking, upgraded street signage and street lighting that would resemble our recent improvements on Main Street or along Highway N. Construction is scheduled to begin soon on Fifth Street and possibly this fall on the Chestnut and Main Street areas. For many years, the Cottleville Community Improvement District has discussed much needed improvements for Fifth Street in Cottleville's historic district. The intersection at Highway N and Fifth Street is congested and too often, accidents occur at this location.
Construction will soon begin at Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Cottleville Parkway, and beyond. Improvements will include additional turn lanes, improved crosswalks, bridge widening and relocating the pedestrian sidewalk/pathway back off the road/shoulder, similar to what is in front of Stygar-Hutchens funeral home. Construction should begin this summer and continue through spring of 2019. This project is funded by the
City of St. Peters, East West Gateway, and St. Charles County Road Board.
Highway N shared use path construction is now complete. This project provided a new (approximately 10 foot wide) pathway/sidewalk on the north side of
Highway
N
from Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Mannino's Market. From their subdivision entrances, this pathway offers Brittany Place, Timberwood Farms, FHC, and others a nice route into the Cottleville old town area and to the park. Soon this stretch of new sidewalk will proudly display "Home of the Spartans/Cottleville" banners on the street lights. This project has been fu
nded by the City of Cottleville and East-West Gateway grants.

Fireworks Regulations
As we prepare to celebrate our Country's Independence Day, we need to remember the City's regulations related to discharging fireworks.
The City allows fireworks to be discharged beginning June 20 and continuing until July 5. They are allowed to be discharged until 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and until 11 pm on Friday and Saturday.
Please remember the importance of safety and proper handling of the fireworks. Be considerate of your neighbors with the direction they are discharged. Fireworks shall not be discharged in
a negligent manner and the debris left behind should be disposed of properly.
