Congratulations to the Class of 2012, who graduated among family and friends on May 4 and 5! Former New England District Superintendent Dr. Jossie Owens was an animated speaker for our graduates, encouraging them to press forward and not to be afraid of the future. Outstanding Senior Awards for the traditional undergraduate program were given to Rebecca Smith from Newton, NJ, and Shane Burt-Miller from Bronx, NY. Outstanding awards in the Adult and Graduate Studies division were given to Amber Reilly from Brockton, MA, Mindy Vasquez from Quincy, MA, Steve Wright from Halifax, MA, and Stacy Dixon from Randolph, MA. Alumni, we’re excited to see you! If you live in the Upstate New York area, the Alumni Office is hosting a lunch gathering at 12:00pm on Friday, May 18 at the Watertown Church of the Nazarene. For Ohio area alumni, come to Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday, June 23 for an Italian Buffet lunch. The Ohio lunch is $10 per person. Lions Finish the Spring Season Strong

Congratulations again to the softball and men’s tennis teams for making the spring 2012 playoffs! The Lady Lions ended their season against Endicott College and men’s tennis concluded its record-breaking season in the semifinal round against Roger Williams University. Several baseball players were voted to the All-CCC team and pitcher Jeremy Cook received an NCAA DIII Honorable Mention award from the NCBWA. Thanks for an exciting season, Lions! Biology Trip to China for Students, Alumni, and Friends

Continuing the Biology department’s tradition of experiential learning, students, faculty and alumni are invited to travel to China in May of 2013. See centuries of history in Bejing from the Forbidden City to Tianamen Square. Meet pandas at the Beijing Zoo and walk along the Great Wall before continuing to Xi’an, where the Terracotta Warriors await. Float down the Li River aboard a bamboo raft in Yangshuo and end your trip in Shanghai with a look into China’s ancient past.
