MAYOR'S MESSAGE

During this wonderful holiday season, the property owners of Sea Isle City received a very nice gift from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. On December 26, I had the pleasure of announcing that Sea Isle has achieved a "Class 3" rating with FEMA's Community Rating System, which means the owners of compliant properties will receive a 35% discount on flood insurance premiums beginning May, 2018. This newest rating (which "leap-frogs" us from Class 5 to Class 3 status) puts Sea Isle City among the top-ten communities in the entire Country in the eyes of FEMA's C.R.S. Program - and we are the only community to reach Class 3 status in the State of New Jersey. That's what I call "good news." <<READ MORE>>

CITY COUNCIL'S MESSAGE

City Council hopes everyone enjoyed the holidays, and we wish each of you a Happy and Healthy New Year! -We are looking forward to a great 2018!

Our last City Council meeting of 2017 was held on December 26. During that meeting, Mayor Desiderio announced that FEMA has designated Sea Isle City as a "Class 3" community in their CRS program, which means owners of compliant properties will receive a 35% discount on flood insurance rates beginning May, 2018. The 35% discount will equate to an overall savings of $1.9 million for Sea Isle's property owners - which is a wonderful holiday present! Thanks to the hard work of Sea Isle City Flood Plain Manager Neil Byrne, City Solicitor Paul Baldini and others in the Administration, Sea Isle was able to achieve this prestigious community rating - and Council is grateful for their efforts. <<READ MORE>>

CITIZEN CALL CHECK

Stay Connected To Security

Sea Isle City residents can easily sign-up for a wonderful free service called the "Citizen Call Check" Program (also known as "CCC"), which helps ensure that seniors, the physically disabled and those who live alone are safe in their homes each day of the year. Once registered, residents simply phone the Sea Isle City Police Department each morning to say "I am OK." If the Police don't hear from you by 11:00 a.m. each day, they will phone you. And, if you don't answer your phone when they call, they will send an officer to knock on your door - just to make sure you're doing well. To learn how to register for the SICPD's Citizen Call Check Program, please phone the SICPD Records Department Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at (609) 263-4311 ext. 2223 or ext. 2246.

CITY WIDE FLOOD MITIGATION PLAN

Comprehensive Flooding Study

A major priority of the Sea Isle City government is addressing the flooding which impacts our City and is most prevalent in low lying areas. Over the past several years, the City has implemented several drainage improvement projects to replace deteriorated storm drainage systems and tidal check valves; and we're coordinating with the county engineer's office on several projects, as much of our drainage system falls under county jurisdiction. << READ MORE>>
