With nearly 100 inches of snowfall in the Boston area so far this winter, I couldn't be any more eager to fly south to this year's ACA/IACP/ACVP Educational Conference.

Ahhh ... Florida in February!

The trip, however, will be about more than catching some rays of warm sunshine. There is important pharmacy business to discuss, from the latest regulatory and payor trends, to the best practices and compounding techniques. It's sure to be an exciting gathering of pharmacy professionals of all stripes.

As we mentioned in our previousnewsletter, the Gates Healthcare team will be welcoming clients, strategic partners and conference participants to our hospitality suite at the host hotel, from Feb. 25-27. Just give us a heads up (call 978-646-0091 or email administrator@gatesconsult.com) to let us know you're coming.

We would love to see you there, especially if you are a fellow snowbird like me!

Sincerely,
Ernest P. Gates Jr., R.Ph, FASCP, FIACP, FACA

Did You Know?
The FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee meets for the first time this week.

The panel will ultimately make recommendations about which drugs should be prohibited from compounding -- the so called Do Not Compound list. The FDA lays out all its background information for the Feb. 23-24 meeting in an 822-page briefing document.
