SEASON'S GREETINGS!
During the past year, we have deepened our bench with new associates who bring with them tremendous expertise in pharmacy practice, regulatory compliance, and business development. We have formed many new relationships and strengthened key partnerships.

We appreciate working with you all, and we share our best wishes for a happy holiday season and a prosperous 2015.

Sincerely,

Take control of controlled substances
Gates Healthcare Associates has enhanced its service offerings with a new Controlled Substance Compliance & Monitoring Division.

Led by former DEA supervisory investigator Jack Crowley, the Division will assist clients in protecting against the loss of controlled substances -- whether through theft, diversion, improper dispensing, or fraud -- as well as preparing for and responding to DEA compliance inspections.

The Drug Enforcement Administration has increased the frequency of its compliance inspections in recent years, in response to the opioid abuse crisis
.

A broad cross-section of organizations, from pro sports teams to healthcare facilities, to manufacturers and distributors, have already called upon Gates Healthcare Associates to create programs that will ensure proper procedures and safe use of these drugs.

Did You Know?
More than one-fifth (21.5%) of law enforcement agencies nationwide say controlled prescription drugs -- in particularly opioid pain relievers -- represent the "greatest drug threat."

That's according to a recent assessment by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Just five years ago, only about 10% of law enforcement agencies considered controlled prescription drug abuse their top concern.

The DEA says the trend has prompted many states to establish prescription drug monitoring programs and new laws targeting "pill mills."
