Spring is Rummage Sale and Community Garden season!

The Village of Howard Community Rummage Sale will take place May 5-6 this year. All households within the village are invited to host their own sale and can be included on the Community Rummage Sale map if they will be open  at least 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. To register your sale, complete and return the form before April 15. There is no cost to participate!   

Gardening season also is just around the corner, and the Village of Howard Community Gardens once again will be open for residents to use! Registration for returning gardeners is NOW open, and they have until March 24 to reserve their same plots. Registration for all other residents will open on March 27. The Spring Election is April 4!


The 2017 Spring Election will be held throughout Wisconsin on Tuesday, April 4. The Village of Howard has four polling locations, all of which will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for residents to vote. For a ward map and list of polling locations, click here.

Howard residents can cast their votes for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Wisconsin Supreme Court justice, Howard Village President, Howard Municipal Judge, Howard-Suamico School Board candidates, and the Howard-Suamico School District referendum. Ballots for residents in Wards 1-2, 3-4, 13-14, and 15-17 also will include Village Board trustees, with only Wards 15-17 having a contested seat. To preview your ballot, click here.

President seeks applicants for vacant Plan Commission seat

Due to the upcoming resignation of a long-time Plan Commission member, President Burt McIntyre is seeking applicants to fill a seat on the Howard Plan Commission. The commission meets the third Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room at Village Hall. Applicants must be Howard residents who are able to attend the monthly meetings on a regular basis.

Any resident wishing to apply for the empty seat should complete the committee application form and return it to President McIntyre by email to [email protected] or by mail to Village Hall, 2456 Glendale Ave., Howard, WI  54313 by April 7, 2017. Please be sure to include your full name and address, as well as a description of any civic involvement or relevant experience.
