With 84 registered, community leaders across California joined the California Convergence Steering Committee members
who did the following: 

  • Introduced CAC new goals and structure - regionally organized, steering committee of community leaders, statewide support  
  • Shared CAC key strategies - regional organizing and policy advocacy - and   
  • Highlighted how to get involved in advancing policies - E-Profile, regional action meetings, CaliforniaConvergence.org 

 

California Convergence (CAC) is a group of California residents and organizations working together to create healthier communities and reverse obesity.

NEW CAC E-PROFILE DEADLINE is Friday, September 2

 

It's easy to finish your CAC E-Profile so you can find your colleagues, and create a voice for policy change.  

 

Be sure to complete BOTH of these short questionnaires at initiatives.communitycommons.org:

      • CAC Addendum and
      • Community Commons E-Profile

  1. Prompted for a registration code?  Enter 58234
  2. Already have a codeLog in (upper right). Go to "Your Initiative" in the lower left column, and click on the "hot" name of your initiative, to start.
  3. Finished the E-Profile Do the California Convergence Addendum too.
  4. Don't see your initiative in the drop-down menu? When in doubt, choose this option to begin:  "Click here to create an e-profile under California Convergence."

Community Support for Promotora Model

A Win in Orange County When Partners Promote the Promotora Community Outreach Model

 
The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved the Latino Health Access mental health contract to provide services using the Promotora Model, when they learned from community leaders that the Community Outreach Promotora Model is nationally recognized and highly effective.

Parks for Everyone Report Examines the Equity of Green Space Access in San Diego  

San Diego Foundation Releases Parks for Everyone Report  

The data-based report in English and Spanish shows that despite vast green space in San Diego, residents do not have equal access. The report was spearheaded by The City Project and The San Diego Foundation.
