Principal's  Letter
Timberlin Creek Families,
I am excited for the 2016-2017 school year! From day one, our students were engaged in learning! In classrooms, you can see students critically thinking, collaboratively working and learning together, and already view student work. I wanted to begin our first newsletter with a few key parent communication avenues that will keep you updated on the current events and student learning throughout the year:
Blackboard Connects - This is St. Johns County School District's  mass notification system. It allows us to send voice, email, and/or text messages. We will utilize this system at Timberlin Creek as a means to keep you updated on current events and important information throughout the school year.
Eagle Eye Newsletter - This is our bi-weekly school newsletter. I use this platform to inform our parents about current events and learning. In addition, I may convey reminders and safety tips that are important to the Timberlin community. In addition to my column, other important information is shared throughout the newsletter.
Timberlin Creek webpage - Our webpage is not only informative, but we work to keep it interactive with learning in the building. Our webmaster, Mrs. Emily DaBruzzi, updates the site frequently and it is a great tool for you to visit regularly. We hope you find this resource useful. You may access our site at    www-tce.stjohns.k12.fl.us .
School Access Form - If you need access to our campus during the school day, you must complete the online School Access Form in advance. Please make sure each member of your family that would like access to the campus at any time during the school day completes the online form at http://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/volunteer/ .
Eating lunch with your child - In order to provide adequate seating for our students in the cafeteria, I am asking that families wishing to have lunch with their child do so in the outdoor seating area (once it is complete) or at the tables on the stage area. We are not able to accommodate family members at the actual cafeteria tables with the classes. Please take your child to the stage seating area or the outdoor seating area to enjoy your time eating lunch. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to grow and welcome our new families.
Zika Prevention - I want to work in partnership with our families on Zika prevention measures that will ensure the safety of all students and families. I encourage you to visit our district website for more information. Zika virus information is posted under the Featured Links section on the district home page and may be viewed at http://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/health/zika/ . I am also including a helpful video link on mosquito prevention strategies http://viewpure.com/hcb1uhk87XY?start=0&end=0 .
Year-at-a-Glance Pacing Guide - This guide is a document that informs parents and students of the recommended pacing and content standards for specific grade levels. It includes the topics to be taught week by week during each quarter and includes a list of instructional resources. The Year-at-a-Glance is only a recommended pacing guide; school leaders and teachers make the final decision regarding the pacing of any program of study. Your child's classroom teacher is always the best source of information regarding content and pacing. The Year-at-a-Glance is supplied as a model of one recommended path to the successful completion of a course. You may view this pacing guide at the following link: http://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/year-at-a-glance/ .
Curriculum Chat Nights (previously known as Open House) - We are encouraging our parents to attend the entire evening so you are truly able to engage in the learning expectations, classroom rituals and routines, and ask questions that you may have about your child's learning. Thank you in advance for your support as we engage our parents and guardians in an evening of becoming active participants in their child's education.
August 29 - 5th grade at 5:30 pm and 1st grade at 6:30 pm;
August 30 - 4th grade, Mrs. Spencer and Ms. Claiborne's classes at 5:30 pm and 2nd grade at 6:30 pm;
September 1 - 3rd grade at 5:30 pm and Kindergarten at 6:30 pm.
Our goal is for every child to be served in an environment of excellence. We encourage you to become an active participant in your child's education. I feel completely blessed and honored to lead at Timberlin Creek and have committed to the learning of all of Eagles.
Your Learning Leader,
Traci Hemingway

For the safety of our students and all visitors to our campus, 24-hour video cameras (interior and exterior) are in use on our campus.

Student Drop Off/Pick-Up
Vehicle Safety

Safety is our first concern!  Please be conscious of the safest method of letting your child exit from your vehicle.  For the safety of your child, our staff, and our safety patrol students, children must always exit on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Videos, Photographs and Recording
Students, parents and visitors are not allowed to videotape, photograph or make audio recordings while on school premises except for Open House and public events
(including plays, musicals, fairs, fundraiser raisers, and awards/recognitions.) All recording devices must be turned off at school. The purpose of this general rule is to foster an appropriate educational environment, prevent unwarranted disclosure of student images and information, and to comply with the requirements of the negotiated agreement with the
St. Johns Education Association.

Field of Dreams Soccer
Creeks Athletics Association
CAA Families,
As many of you know, Creeks Athletics Association (CAA) has been the partnered provider of St. John's County for youth athletics in the Northwest for 20 plus years.
We have over 4500 families and more than 700 volunteers participating in 15 different sports including baseball, softball, lacrosse, wrestling, track and field and special needs baseball (Field of Dreams) to name a few.  Many of you are volunteers who have dedicated countless hours and years building our program   into one of the most recognized community organizations in St Johns County and the State of Florida.
With regards to our youth soccer program, what we originally thought was a partnership turned into a complete takeover of our program.  This year our soccer board was suddenly disbanded, our bank accounts were moved, our web site was taken and many of our recreation players were displaced out of Veterans Park.
Creeks Recreational Soccer will return as it was for the past 20 years.  We are committed to providing the recreational soccer needs of St Johns county residents in our area.
We commit the following:
  • High level of recreational soccer all taking place at Veterans Park.  We have all the permits on file.
  • Affordable costs for our player:  Uniforms included in the cost of registration.
  • No more on-line stores to purchase your uniform at an additional cost.  And if we receive a sponsorship on the uniforms, we commit to lowering the registration price.
  • Teams can stay together... bring your entire rec recreational team over, we are very experienced at making that work.
  • The club will be built on volunteers.  If we do hire people it will be cost effective. An audit of the books showed over $800,000 in salaries with the previous club, with a proposed budget of $1.1 million in 2016.  We promise to never let this happen again.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.  We are working very hard to return the recreational club back to the mission of CAA and the county.  The Club will run just like the other 2 recreational clubs in the St. Johns County and we will fulfill the mission of the county and CAA.
As expected registrations have already started to come in at a brisk pace.  Please help us spread the word that CAA recreation soccer is back at Veterans Park.
Please go to the website to register and find out more or email caasoccer123@gmail.com
