ECLIPSE FEST 2017 - FAQ AND GUIDELINES
We know you are as excited as we are for the BIG EVENT August 21! We have been busy lining up fantastic bands, delicious food, and unique vendors to keep you entertained at the farm all day long. We know you have lots of questions, so hopefully , this newsletter will help you make the most of your day.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING YOUR QUESTIONS

Chattooga Belle Farm is still a family-run operation. While we would love to speak with each of about your plans to celebrate this amazing eclipse, due to such a high influx of emails and phone calls specifically about this event, we are not able to answer each of you individually. Please read through this FAQ thoroughly. Hopefully, you will find that many of your questions will be answered.

INFORMATION FOR CAMPERS AND GUESTS


ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN


PARKING

ALL MUST PARK IN THE SATELLITE FIELD PARKING LOT. 

Suggested $5 donation to benefit The Boy Scouts of America who will be directing traffic and helping in the parking lot. Please bring cash.


Shuttle service will be provided from 10:00am until 6:00pm. 


This lot is close to the Distillery, so you can also choose to walk straight there.


It is approximately a 10 minute walk to the Main Barn on the farm.


HANDICAPPED PARKING - Gravel parking lot near barn is for handicapped and EMS only.  You must have a handicapped tag.



CHECK-IN

All guests must check-in to receive their wristbands. You must have a wristband to enter the festival. Check-ins are located near the Barn or the Distillery.


You must give your name. You will need to show ID to receive a 21+ wristband if you want to purchase alcohol. You will receive:

Upon check-in you will receive the items for all people in your party. If only part of your party is present, you will be responsible for getting the items to the rest your party. You must have a wristband to enter the festival. We cannot hold any tickets/items at the check-in station for people arriving separately from your group.


You will not be allowed to bring in any coolers and/or pets!



CAMPER CHECK-IN


Camper Check-in is located at the well-house behind the Distillery en route to the Lakeside Camping Sites. 


Multiple-night campers can check in between 9:00am and 5:00pm on Sunday, 8/20.  


On Monday, camper check-in will be from 9:00am to 12:00pm only.

GENERAL FAQ/DURING THE EVENT


We expect to have nearly 2,000 people at the farm! This includes all guests, vendors, bands, staff, etc.


WHEN IS THE ECLIPSE?

1:06 Eclipse Begins (Clayton, GA - space.com)

2:15 All Farm Activity Break Starts

2:35 Totality Begins

2:38 Totality Ends

2:50 Farm Activity Break Ends

4:01 Eclipse Ends


All activity (music, food prep, food service, sales, etc) will stop from 2:15 - 2:55 so that everyone can have the opportunity to enjoy the eclipse.


WHAT WILL BE GOING ON THAT DAY?

Live music at the both the barn and the distillery

Food vendors at the barn and distillery

Craft vendors in the vineyard

Tours and Tastings at the Distillery ($5 charge)

Kid’s Tent


WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

  • Identification for check-in
  • Small pop-up tent or umbrella for shade (Natural shade available in apple and peach orchards)
  • Please secure/tie down any tents. Strong winds at the farm are not unusual.
  • Folding chairs and small tables
  • Blankets
  • SPF
  • Bug Spray
  • Hats
  • Empty water bottle - can be filled at barn or distillery - bottled water will be widely available for purchase
  • Chattooga Belle Farm is not responsible for your items on farm property. 


WHAT CAN I not BRING?

  • Pets
  • Coolers
  • Outside food, drink, and alcohol
  • Weapons

WHERE CAN I SET UP?

We encourage you to spread out over all 138 acres of the farm. You will not be able to set up directly near the barn or in the vineyard where our festival vendors will be set-up. 

 

WHEN CAN I SET UP?

Our gates will be open at 8:00am on Monday. However, the shuttle will not start until 10:00am and no businesses will be open and running until 10:00am. 


BATHROOMS

The farm bathrooms run on well water and a high volume of usage will cause slower water. There will be Port-a-Potties throughout the farm, at the parking area, distillery, camping area, near the farm store, and near Belle’s Bistro. 


IDENTIFICATION

All Farm Staff will be wearing a Staff Shirt. 

All guests will be ID-ed at check-in. Guests over 21 will be wearing blue wristbands. Guests under 21 will be wearing red wristbands. All vendors will have wristbands as well. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A WRISTBAND YOU WILL NOT BE SERVED. 


EMERGENCY

In case of emergency please see Emergency Services in the gravel parking lot by the barn.


SAFETY

The event is on a farm. It is outside. There are bugs (fire ants, bees, and so many more), pollens, uneven ground, etc. Please plan accordingly and bring any supplies you may need including but not limited to SPF, hats, bug spray, etc. There will be some items like this available for purchase at the Farm Store.

This event is all about the sun but please keep in mind that the sun brings many safety risks:

Blindness (Our Eclipse Glasses are ISO Certified)

Sunburn

Dehydration


Please be safe!


Under South Carolina law, an agritourism professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in an agritourism activity resulting from an inherent risk associated with the agritourism activity.  (Chapter 53, Title 46, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976.)


OTHER


IF YOU HAVE BEEN TO CHATTOOGA BELLE FARM BEFORE, BUSINESS THAT DAY WILL BE DIFFERENT THAN USUAL. Please note the following:


  • Belle’s Bistro will be open to Bistro dining guests only. No reservations will be taken. We will start a waiting list if needed and may request a cell-phone number for waiting list notifications. There may be a more limited menu as well. 
  • Tastings and Tours at the Distillery will be available for $5
  • No wine tastings will be available.
