Last week's three-day legislative special session approved :
  • $76 million for Visit Florida, the state's tourism agency: The funding requires new provisions for how the agency reports expenses and contracts. For example, all contracts Visit Florida signs for more than $500,000 must now be posted online. Contracts for more than $750,000 will require approval from the Joint Legislative Budget Commission.

  • $85 million for Florida Job Growth Grant Fund: This Fund will be housed within the Department of Economic Opportunity and was created to fund rural infrastructure, transportation projects at the local government level, and training programs for state colleges and technical schools.
