Florida businesses and residents can expect a reduction in energy costs over the long-term, as Florida Power & Light begins to use a battery technology system to store solar power.

This solar storage system is now being used at one of the company's DeSoto County plants. Because this plant can now store energy collected at peak hours of the day, rather than lose that energy, it is estimating an increase in 500,000 kilowatt hours per year that it can send to the electric grid.
