Welcome to EFC-ER's Weekly Encourager. We trust that this will become a bright spot each week in your emails. The purpose of the Weekly Encourager is to provide up-to-date information about region-wide events, prayer requests, and helpful resources from the local churches.

"Thou shalt know Him when He comes, not by any din of drums,
Nor manner, nor His airs, nor by anything He wears.
Thou shalt know Him when He comes, not by any crown or by His gown,
But His coming known shall be,
by the holy harmony which His coming makes in Thee. - Anonymous

Merry Christmas from the staff at the World Outreach Center!
We pray that you feel the peace of Christ during the Christmas season and throughout the new year.
Upcoming Events:
* January 22-23
- Youth Awakening
details to come.
* February 11
- Grand Board Retreat and Executive Board
in Canton, Ohio. Details have been emailed to board members. Contact Julia at [email protected] with questions.

We trust that every church is sharing these prayer requests within their local prayer community. Here is this week's request:

1 - A praise that Wayne Evans returned safely from his travels to India.
2 - Please remember the Revision Team as they meet January 5-7 with consultant Lonnie Bullock. Also, pray for discernment and flexibility in the Eastern Region during this new year of change.

Treasurers : Remember to send in your 2015 apportionments, GCB giving, and Faith Promise giving by the middle of January so we can close the financial year.

There are still pastoral openings at Urbana, Gilead, and Barberton Friends churches. Contact Randy Heckert for information.
Instead of the Christian Education Board giving out curriculum materials this year, they have gifted each church with a $25 gift certificate to Lion & Lamb Bookstore. These gift certificates need to be used by  Monday, December 28. You can either visit or call the store (330) 332-8501 to make your order. Even if you don't need it until January, you can still make the purchase, pay now, and receive it later.

From left: Jennifer, Sydney, Pastor Mark and Lily Winner (Cornerstone Friends Church in Madison, OH) were featured in the New-Herald on December 19 regarding the Hope Shoppe, an event for children whose families otherwise couldn't afford to pick out Christmas gifts for friends, family and loved ones. Sydney came up with the idea five years ago after visiting Project Hope with her family. She worked with her family's
help, along with support from Cornerstone Friends Church, a number of other area churches, groups and individuals to establish it.

OFC donated 28 "shoe boxes" of gifts to the children, Kroger gift cards to each of the 18 families, and a new guitar and tambourine. The worship director from FCWH went with Norbu and Bhakta Tamang to purchase a new sound system with gifted money from the church. Above: retired pastor Roger Sorensen prayed a blessing over the church.
