Last Thursday, February 11, over 80 people including members from nine of our boards, EFC-ER staff, and the Revision Team gathered at Canton First Friends Church for the Grand Board Retreat. We enjoyed a time of worship led by TJ McDonald (Worship Leader at Canton First Friends) and a devotional from Randy Heckert, Interim Associate Superintendent. Randy asked, "What does love look like in our Board Meetings?" and encouraged members to listen, be gracious, and ask how they can help others succeed. The Revision Team presented the new vision and gave an update on their progress so far. A time of questions and answers followed. Jim Brantingham was moved by the presentation to share, "I thank God that the efforts of my generation are being evaluated not to be discarded but to be built upon." Boards met individually to discuss current action items. Everyone shared a delicious lunch together before departing. The Executive Board also met in the afternoon at the World Outreach Center. Thank you to everyone who traveled to Canton for the day! We appreciate your dedication and time.
An update on GCB giving: We received around $1,000 in donations and $1,000 in pledges. If you pledged an amount at the Grand Board Retreat, misplaced your slip, or you just want to give, please send donations to the EFC-ER this week so we can close the books for 2015. Thank you for your generosity!
