News from the office:
* Missions Month Materials have been mailed to churches.
* Details for digital resources will be coming next week.
The WOC was a busy place last weekend as they welcomed our Hispanic leaders for the annual retreat.
Thank you for praying for the Hispanic Retreat!
Here's a summary of the weekend:
More than thirty Hispanic leaders, representing 11 different churches within the Eastern Region, gathered in Canton, Ohio for worship, prayer and strategic planning to the end that God's Word/Mission might "continue to increase and spread" in our disciple-making call (cf. Acts 6:7). Focus was given to living out the Gospel in our churches; along with exploring next steps in strengthening our relationship as partners in ministry toward the goal of becoming full churches in EFC-ER.
September Events to keep in your prayers:
* Sept. 19-21 - WMF Southern Retreat (Kitty Hawk, SC)
More details available at our website
(www.efcer.org/wmf/fall-retreat-south)
* Sept. 27-29 - Retreat for Young Adults in Battle Creek, MI. See brochure for details.

Attention Church Treasurers:
Some treasurer reports have been sent to the Shreve address. Please remove Lowell Shreve's name from your correspondence. All church treasurer forms and funds need to be sent directly to the EFC-ER office in care of our current Treasurer, Clark Hoopes.
Thank you.

Sharing Our Stories:
Thank you to those who've sent VBS reports!
Expect to see new reports every week.
This week's feature: Orange Friends Church
Orange Friends (central OH) reaches their local community by "Being His Hands & His Feet."
The "His Hands, His Feet" Local Missions Event was held at Orange Friends Church on Wednesday, July 30th through Sunday, August 3rd.
This year, instead of traveling to another area to serve, they decided to try something a little different. For five days this summer, the teams met for breakfast, devotions and prayer at the church before branching out to minister to the community.
Service projects included mowing lawns for the elderly; visiting shut-ins and nursing home residents; painting; serving meals; landscaping; building a memorial garden for an elderly couple; helping people move; sorting and organizing clothes donated for the homeless, etc
His hands and His feet was an excellent way for a much larger portion of the congregation to engage in a wonderful missions experience without having to travel far away from home. Watch their video below:

We're still collecting stories from our churches!
Has your church experienced a great mission trip, VBS, outreach project or hosted a memorable event lately?
We'd like to hear about it and share it with our wider Friends family via website, print or other media venues as they are developed.
Please send your pictures and stories of mission trips, church events, etc. to Julia (Barber) McDonald: [email protected].

From the WOC Office:
* Board/ Committee Chairs -- Call Julie with your event dates today.
We need dates for 2015 Eastern Region events!
If you are in charge of Region-wide events for next year, would you please call Julie Jenkins at the Eastern Region office so we can add those events to the master calendar. As churches are now planning their own events, they are calling the headquarters to avoid scheduling conflicts. Thanks!
