"O you can't get to heaven on roller skates, cause you'd roll right by those pearly gates..." Does anyone else remember that strange song from Sunday school or church camp when they were a kid? That song is just the beginning of the rules, requirements, and images we have created about heaven over the centuries. In our progressive congregation the idea believing in an after-life or eternal life might be more controversial to some than preaching politics from the pulpit. This Sunday we're talking about the theology of eternal life in our faith tradition. I invite you to join us whether you believe a lot, you believe a little, or you're not sure what you believe but you're willing to take the journey anyway.

YOUTH CHURCH SCHOOL AND PARENTS!
This is a friendly reminder that this Sunday during our youth class we will be celebrating the close of our program year. Feel free to bring your favorite food to share - no nuts, please. We will continue together immediately following worship and hope to have parents join in the discussion. We will evaluate the 2017-2018 program year and work together to plan for 2018- 2019 program year. This would also be a good time to bring any questions about our Morgan Scott trip. Be thinking about our successes and our challenges as we look to be the best we can be in the year to come. Bring your ideas of projects/outings/themes you'd like to explore.

DINNERS FOR EIGHT (more or less)
Sponsored by the Congregational Life Team, these are small dinners (or lunches) in the homes of members and friends or at church (accessible/alcohol free). Meals are simple, often potluck, and conversation is the highlight of the event. This is a wonderful opportunity to relax, eat and get to know a few Edgewood people better.
It's easy and fun!
If you are able to HOST or CO-HOST one of these meals, please fill out an information sheet (located on the bulletin board in the hallway) and place it on the green poster board so that others may sign up.
If you would like to be a GUEST, please find a meal that you can attend and sign up. For more information, contact JoAnn Hubbard at email@example.com.
