News from The House

March 2016

What is Summer Salsa? Organized by a committee of community volunteers advised by staff, our 14th Annual Summer Salsa has a casual, summer party theme.
Guest will enjoy festive food & beverages, live music, and will have the opportunity to bid on unique silent auction items.
A brief presentation will educate newcomers about the mission and programs at EOA Children's House, while also updating longtime supporters on new developments and progress at the center.

100% of the proceeds from Summer Salsa go directly to support the services provided at
EOA Children's House!

Will there be Salsa Dancing?  There will be dancing, but probably not Salsa...unless you want to!
The Salsa that WILL be in attendance will be the kind you eat, so plan on stimulating your taste buds by participating in our 3rd Annual Salsa Tasting Competition. YUM!

February in Review:

February was full of activities at EOA Children's House!
Here are just a few highlights:

EOA Director of Advancement, Megan Cuddy, met with students involved in the EAST Program at  Harber High School in Springdale on February 2nd to discuss child abuse issues in Northwest Arkansas. This energetic group is interested in implementing child abuse prevention initiatives locally, naming their project "Little Hands Matter."

H&R Block has been busy collecting items from the needs list at EOA Children's House, discounting the tax preparation service fee to customers that bring a donation.  The group dropped off the first load of donated items to us on February 19th.  All of the Springdale locations are taking donations.  Thank you, H&R Block, for your generosity!

Family Day at EOA Children's House was held on February 19th. Maggie Arroyo from Legal Aid of Arkansas spoke to the group about the services provided by their agency. Thank you for the great information!

Painting with a Twist in Fayetteville hosted a "Painting with a Purpose" fundraising event for EOA Children's House on February 21st.  With 50% of each participant's fee being donated to EOA Children's House and with 44 participants, we raised $770!  Thank you to all that participated in this super fun event!

The Pineapple Tree Dance Company performed at EOA Children's House on February 26th.  After the beautiful performance, our children danced with
the ballerinas.  The kiddos had so much fun and continued twirling the rest of the day!

Feed Communities visited EOA Children's House for Garden Club on February 26th.  The PreK kids learned about planting seeds, starting with planting some tomato and pepper seeds!
