Not My Kid: What Every Parent Should Know

The questions to ask about whether or not a child may be at risk for suicide can be complicated. This short video for parents asks and answers a few of those questions, but more importantly, demonstrates how to ask those questions - and keep asking - until parents get answers that help them understand whether or not their child is at risk for suicide... and what to do about it. The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide provides additional resources for parents, schools and students to spread awareness to teen suicide.

Special Education vs. Section 504 

Not all students who have disabilities need special education services. There are two laws that address how students who have disabilities needs can be met at school. They are th Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
