Welcome back to the 2017-2018 school year. I hope you had a great summer. Below is information on CTE updates, upcoming sessions and activities scheduled for the fall.
TEA's Career and Technical Education team launched the
Texas CTE Resource Center website. The CTE resource center is th
e central repository for free CTE instructional and supplemental materials and professional development content.The CTE resource center provides a wealth of helpful, refreshed instructional materials and professional development content, aligned with the new 2017-18 CTE TEKS.
Texas Gateway and New CTE TEKS Training Courses
Great news! New CTE TEKS Modules are available in
Texas Gateway. The New CTE TEKS Modules focus on each of the 16 career clusters, Career Development - Chapter 127, administrators and counselors, and TEKS implementation. Each module takes approximately one hour to complete and a certificate is awarded upon completion. Each teacher is encouraged to complete the TEKS implementation, Career Development, and the the cluster that they teach. Administrators and Counselors are encouraged to complete the Administrator and Counselor module.

Mark your calendar and share with your students. The annual Cen-Tex College Night is scheduled for September 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bell County Expo Center, 301 W. Loop 121, Belton, TX. Sixteen area high schools will join together to bring students and their families to this exciting event.
Mark your calendar for the City of Waco STEAM day on Tuesday, October 11th from 8-2 p.m.
The goal is to inspire middle and high school students to pursue careers in our community in Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Art and Mathematics.

The iCEV teacher training professional development consists of ensuring educators have the knowledge to successfully use iCEV in any classroom situation. From understanding how the program operates to best practices for using technology and media in the classroom, our professional development will provide teachers the tools to succeed with this new classroom resource.
