Member Highlight
George R. Hoguet, CFA, FRM, Immediate Past CFA Society Boston Chair, recently reviewed Richard Bookstaber's book, The End of Theory -- Financial Crises, The Failure of Economics and the Sweep of Human Interaction

In the review, which recently appeared in  the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum September Bulletin, Hoguet posits that  Bookstaber argues that the assumptions on which neo-classical economics are built are not robust, and break down in  financial  crises. He advocates an Agent Based Modelling approach. Hoguet did not find his argument fully developed or  convincing, but recommends this book to anyone interested in financial markets and thinking about the next crisis.
George Hoguet would welcome comments from the global community of finance professionals!
