ESLC Announces Spring Guided Bird Tours
|

Please join us for two guided bird tours this spring season. Both tours - led by ESLC's own lifelong birder Jared Parks - will be held on Saturday, April 28th in Talbot County and Saturday, May 5th in Kent County. These tours are part of ESLC's ongoing efforts to allow the public to get up close and personal with some of the beautiful places ESLC has preserved on the Eastern Shore.
The Talbot County walk will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 28, on a preserved, private property about 15 minutes from Easton. Registrants will be given the address and directions to the property. Habitat to be explored will include woodlands, field edges and newly constructed waterfowl impoundments. A conservation easement was recorded on the property in 2011. A Kent County bird walk will begin at 7 a.m., Saturday, May 5, in the Turner's Creek parking lot, about 25 minutes north of Chestertown. Habitat to be explored will include woodland, creek frontage and field edge. Participants are encouraged to wear boots, hats and, if necessary, rain gear. Bug spray and sunscreen also are recommended. Binoculars are most important. The cost for each walk is $15 for non-members, $10 for members, and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. For $20, people can join Jared for the walk and receive a one-year membership to ESLC, which comes with exclusive discounts on many ESLC events, such as bird walks and night hikes. Contact Jared Parks at (410) 827-9756 ext. 167 or jparks@eslc.org. for registration or additional details.
Happy Birding!
