Our 26th Annual Conference will take place in Belgrade (Serbia) on 21-22 April 2016. The main conference theme will be centres of cooperation striving for excellence: professional higher education and the world of work. Sessions will be structured around 3 tracks on employability, regional development, and innovation.

 
Jens Nymand Christensen, Deputy Director General for Education and Culture of the European Commission will be the keynote speaker at the conference. Jens Nymand Christensen is Danish and holds a Master degree in Business Economics and International Economics. From 16 September 2014 he was appointed Deputy Director-General in the Directorate General for Education and Culture.

Registrations are open online. The conference will be preceded by a meeting of EURASHE's General Assembly on Wednesday 20 April 2016.

EURASHE is organising with colleagues of the EQUIP project (ENQA, EUA, ESU, EI, EQAR, UiO, CCISP) 5 events on the use of the ESG 2015 as a tool for change in European higher education in the first semester of 2016: 17 February (webinar), 14-15 March (Amsterdam), 13 April (webinar), 9-10 May (Vienna) and 6-7 June (Lisbon). Following the adoption of the ESG 2015 by EHEA ministers in Yerevan in May 2015, this webinar will explore the status of external quality assurance (QA) in the EHEA and the challenges that quality assurance agencies may face in adapting their processes in light of the ESG 2015. The webinar will bring together the representatives of European actors and quality assurance agencies to consider the new expectations and possible approaches. The Porto Polytechnic (IPP) is coordinating the eFinlit project aiming to improve financial literacy skills of low income and unemployed young adults. The project will work on re- skilling and up-skilling; improving a ccess to open educational resources (OER) in education and training; m odernising higher education systems/access to adults; and raising a wareness.

IACEE 2016 will take place in Porto (Portugal) on 17-20 May and will be the place to discuss the current state and best practices and foresee the future of continuing professional development (CPD) and of Continuing Engineering Education (CEE). A call for papers has been launched and remains open until 31 January.

EUROGRADUATE, which aimed at studying the feasibility of a European graduate study, will present its final outcomes during a seminar in Berlin (Germany) on 15 March. The seminar targets researchers, decision makers, higher education professionals, and stakeholder organisations. Participation is free of charge. On 3-4 May ASIIN will organise an international conference in Berlin (Germany) on the untapped potential of quality assurance. It will look into the grand challenges and unique opportunities that a structured approach to quality assurance and accreditation has for organising academic and professional mobility on a global scale while providing valuable information for key stakeholders such as politicians, parents and students, recognition authorities etc. Registrations are open on the ASIIN website.
