A busy week coming up with the arrival of the 1/18 scale Marmon Wasp and Vern Schuppan Lola T-332 Formula 5000 models along with Tyler Alexander's new book 'McLaren From The Inside', all while we're packing for Road America and 'The Hawk' Vintage races next weekend ( We will be closed next Saturday as a result.). We should have all three new items with us at Elkhart, along with some fresh arrivals from the TWM Collection and the latest releases from Spark and Minichamps and a selection of books and DVDs. New from AutoArt is this highly detailed 1/43 scale model of the 1955 LeMans winning Jaguar D-type from their Signature Series. Assembled with more than 140 parts, this gem features a detailed engine, removable tonneau cover, opening hood, boot and driver's door. A lot of model for $149.95. One last item to tease / tempt you with before we go: This week, CMC released photos of their forthcoming Ferrari 312P Spyder as driven by Mario Andretti and Chris Amon in it's first appearance at Sebring in 1969. The stunning Group 6 machine paired Ferrari's proven 3 litre Grand Prix engine with a combination monocoque / tube frame chassis and a sleek angular body. The beautiful new car took Pole Position for the Florida classic and despite teething problems and overheating caused by errant debris clogged in the ducting, finished second just a lap behind the John Wyer Ford GT40 driven by Ickx / Oliver but 3 laps clear of the third place Porsche 908/2 of Stommelen / Buzzetta / Ahrens.
CMC tells us we may see this model here in the US by the end of summer. Advance orders recommended.
