23 years ago my very pregnant wife, Ruth, my son, Alex and I came to serve in Alaska for three weeks and it changed our lives forever. Since then many, many wonderful people have joined me and brought LightShine Ministries to a whole new level - way bigger than I could have ever done myself!  We have been serving local churches, Bible camps and various ministries throughout the state of Alaska and slowly but surely we have accumulated two vans, a crewcut pickup, and two utility trailers filled with tools. 

Our crews need the tools to do their job and God has provided in so many ways. Our ministry is not just to those we serve in Alaska but also to the hundreds of people who have served with us!

Many we have joked within our volunteer staff that what we need now are some SHELVES! <<< meaning, in our own garage and on our own property. Well, that dream might be closer than what we think!

This past week, after much research and prayer, our board approved that we move forward on this property that became available about a mile away from the ranch we currently keep our things at now. Yesterday, I signed an official document making an offer on a piece of property in Alaska. This is VERY exciting news for us. The property is almost 5 acres and has this (above) rental house on it. It also has a large open area surrounded by beautiful trees (pictured below) in front of the house. A previous owner used to raised pheasants in the many cages and pens that are currently grown up in weeds. 

Would you please do two things for us? First is pray for the owner to accept our offer - like right now! This will be a cash sale and we offered him much lower than what he had listed. If he accepts the price we offered, we are going to have to come up with at least $20,000 more than we have to purchase it.  The second thing you could do is consider giving a gift to LightShine Ministries to help us raise this final money?

We are a non-profit ministry registered with the IRS so that all donations given to this missionary work are tax deductible. This property will be slowly developed into a fully functioning missionary base where we desire to send many more teams to the Alaskan Native villages and various ministries all over the state. We have been doing this for the last 23 years. Our staff intends on doing this for the rest of our lives.
