Blood Drive
The students of Selwyn Elementary School are sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on April 22 – the same day as our annual Health Fair!

This project will be a part of a “Pint Size Heroes” curriculum that will teach your children more about the function of blood components, circulation, and the body’s natural healing process.

To make this blood drive a success, we need your help now! To set an accurate
donation goal we ask to collect
"pledges” from you, our possible blood donors. If interested in helping as a donor, please return this form by email to Coach Kilgo or to the Main Office by March 12.
Please Donate!
Dr. Harris, along with Principal Lis are members of the Building Blocks Committee in conjunction with teacher representatives from all grades at Selwyn. They meet monthly
during the school year to review individual teacher requests and discuss school improvements like playground upgrades and school-wide technology needs.

All funding decisions are based on money raised during the Building Blocks Campaign, which began in mid-December and runs through March 23.
Please check out this video from Dr. Harris and consider donating to the Building Blocks Campaign.

Our goal is to raise $120,000 and have 100% parent participation by the March 23 deadline. If there is enough parent participation, we will bring back our famous lip-synch battle between Dr. Harris and Principal Lis at the March 23rd assembly!

Donations can be sent back via the Building Blocks envelopes distributed back in January, or you can donate online by visiting the PTA website. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you!
If you have questions about Building Blocks, please email the co-chairs, Susan and Chris Rukus .

Urgent Need for Substitute Teachers!
Over the past year, Selwyn’s substitute teacher pool has decreased and there is an urgent need to add candidates to the contact list. As a Selwyn parent, you could serve as a substitute in any capacity other than your own
child’s classroom. If this sounds like something you or someone you know would like to do, please contact Principal Lis.
