99% of the Class of 2016 will be attending college this fall. Members of the Class of 2016 were accepted at 139 colleges and will be attending 53 colleges.

Congratulations to the following seven individuals who will be inducted into the 2016 Bishop Watterson Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of their impressive accomplishments and contributions to Bishop Watterson athletics. The inductees will be honored at activities on the weekend of August 26 - 28. Inductees will be introduced at half-time of the Bishop Watterson vs. Walnut Ridge football game at Hagley Field on Friday, August 26. A Mass will be held in the chapel at Bishop Watterson at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 28th. Brunch and an induction ceremony will follow in Dominican Hall. The 3rd annual Mike Crisp Backyard Shindig was held on Friday, June 17 at Bishop Watterson. Alumni and friends were treated to music, food, and the opportunity to visit with others from the Bishop Watterson community on a beautiful summer evening.

Alumni prepare meals at St. Lawrence Haven
|
The Alumni Department provides service at St. Lawrence Haven on the second Wednesday of each month. We prepare and package meals for the daily lunch line. We normally volunteer from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
St. Lawrence Haven is the St. Vincent de Paul-run sack lunch program. The Haven sits behind Holy Family Church at the corner of Rich and Main streets downtown. Approximately 300-500 meals are served each day. The staff at St. Lawrence Haven is very appreciative of the assistance we provide and we are very thankful for the alumni and friends who have taken time out of their busy schedules to help with this service endeavor.

Campbell Named Principal
Deacon Chris Campbell '77 has been named the fifth principal of Bishop Watterson High School. Deacon Campbell, who took the helm on July 1, has been involved in numerous aspects of the school since he joined the Theology staff in 1997. His assignments have included Pastoral Director, Athletic Director, Retreat Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, Eligibility Coordinator, Director of Admissions/Registrar and, most recently, Assistant Principal.
Deacon Campbell earned his bachelor's degree in Theology and Political Science from Ohio Dominican University in 1997 and in 2014 he earned his master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the same institution. He was ordained a permanent deacon in 2005 and serves in diaconal ministry at Immaculate Conception Parish.

Assistant Principals Named
Ryan Schwieterman '01 and Andrea Pore joined the BWHS administrative team as Assistant Principals
.
 Schwieterman is a 2001 BWHS graduate who has served as principal at two of our feeder schools: Our Lady of Peace and St. Mary Delaware. Prior to that Ryan was the 7th and 8th grade science teacher at St. Michael School. He has been a participant and speaker at numerous conferences, institutes and forums.
Porejoins us from St. Francis DeSales where she has served as a Theology teacher, AP Psychology teacher, and Director of Campus Ministry while working with various integrative learning approaches and also leading training.

BWHS Musical Director Liz Thomas '87 O'Dorisio will lead sessions for grades 2-8 and 9-12
August 8-13 in the Little Theatre!
Each participant will get an opportunity to experience what it takes to put on a staged production. From auditions to set design, rehearsals to costume selection, choreography to vocal review - in one week, students will participate in a student-built show with confidence!
