Spirit Week is NEXT Week!
One of our favorite weeks of the year at Grace is happening NEXT week! It's Spirit Week! This is your child's chance to dress up and have fun all week long. The following is the schedule for the week.

Monday, March 5th - Moustache Monday (Wear, paint, or draw a moustache on your face!)

Tuesday, March 6th - Toupee Tuesday (Wear your craziest hair to school!)

Wednesday, March 7th - Wacky Socks Wednesday (Sport your wackiest socks all day long!)

Thursday, March 8th - Thriving Thursday (Dress as what you would like to be when you grow up.)

Friday, March 9th - Fearless Friday (Wear your favorite sports team shirt or jersey. You can wear school-appropriate athletic bottoms also.) This is also field day for 1st-6th graders. Field Day begins at 1:45.
5th Grader Vivian participated in the the Wax Museum for Black History Month. Each 5th grade student selected a famous African American to research. She researched the multi-talented Paul Robeson.
5th Grader Jacob showing off his trumpet pose as he reports on Louis Armstrong. To show off what they learned each student posed as a "wax figure" and then shared their research when a visitor to the "museum" pushed their button.
Josh posing as Jackie Robinson during the 5th Grade Wax Museum. Other classes walked through the "museum" to learn about famous African Americans.
Irie researched Duke Ellington for her project. She shared information about his life and music when visitors to the "museum" pushed her button.
The NED Show
Alex from The NED Show visited Grace this week. Alex showed off some amazing yo-yo and balloon tricks, told some animated stories, while all at the same time talking to our students about being champions in life. His message of Never Give Up, Encourage Others, and Do Your Best went over well with our students during this fun afternoon treat.
Middle School is having a blast on their field trip to Tallahassee today!
6th Graders are working hard to get their garden up and going for the Spring season.
Word Millionaires!
Jack and Lauren were both recognized for becoming an Accelerated Reader Word Millionaire this week at Flag! Mrs. Marzec along with classroom teachers track each child's reading and when they read over 1,000,000 words, they join the Word Millionaire Club! Way to go kids!
Congratulations to the Artist of the Week from Mrs. Lindholm's 7th grade class, Kendall. She painted a picture of a delicious looking pink frosted birthday cake after studying a series of painting by Wayne Thiebaud, called Cakes and Pies. Looks yummy Kendall!
Congratulations to the new Artist of the Week, from Mrs. Hite's Kindergarten, Colin. Mrs. Porfidio introduced abstract art to the class and Colin used colorful shapes to create a beautiful abstract collage.
