B-17 Bomber Visits Indy Exec!

From July 31 - August 2, the Texas Raiders' B-17 Bomber was on display at Montgomery Aviation and Indianapolis Executive Airport.

This unique bomber is one of just 11 left flying in the world and is literally a flying museum and tribute to the WWII veterans who flew her.

Thanks to the hard work of the Gulf Coast Wing of the Commemorative Air Force to restore and maintain her - hundreds of Central Indiana residents had the opportunity to tour the B-17 and some even had the opportunity to take a ride.

$17,200 Raised at Down Syndrome Indiana

Open-House & Fly-In; Six year total of $73,800

The Open House at Indianapolis Executive Airport on Saturday August 4th raised a total of $17,200 the most ever in the six years the event has been held. More than a thousand visitors turned out to see a variety of aviation displays, demonstrations and other family activities with the donations coming from vendor proceeds, corporate sponsors and individual donations.

pilot for SolutionsAir and passed after being in a motorcycle accident on I-465.

Upcoming PGA BMW Golf Championships

The PGA will be in town soon for the BMW Golf Championships at Crooked Stick Golf Club September 3-9. We expect there to be a significant increase in air traffic specifically on September 2 & 3 as well as 9 & 10. Please be aware of this while operating in and around the airport. At this point, we are not planning any closures or changes to normal operating procedures - but will be in contact with you should it become necessary.

August 14 - Indy Aero Club Dinner under the Canopy

The Indianapolis Aero Club will be hosting their August meeting at Indianapolis Executive Airport with a picnic dinner under the canopy from 6pm - 8pm. Dan Montgomery and Bobby Beem will be speaking about the Super Bowl.

August 18 - Eagle Flyers Fly-Out

We will continue our regular monthly fly-outs with another attempt to hit up French Lick, IN on Saturday, August 18! Don't miss this one - it will be a lot of fun.

We plan to meet at Indy Exec (TYQ) at 9:30am to match planes, pilots, and passengers and take-off around 10am. Contact Pat Gaston with questions

Please pencil in plans to attend our September fly-out on Saturday, September 15 to Grimes Field near Urbana, OH. It was featured in May's AOPA Pilot Magazine.

August 21 - Indy Partnership Open House

Central Indiana's partnership of local economic development organizations (LEDOs) is hosting an open house and B2B networking session on August 21st at Indianapolis Executive Airport from 5pm - 7pm.

August 25 - Helping Her Heal Polo Match

Montgomery Aviation invites you to join us for the Helping Her Heal polo match in Whitestown. Helping Her Heal is a local 501(c)3 assisting women with female cancers with emotional and financial assistance. Montgomery Aviation regularly supports this event and has a few extra seats in our box. If you are interested in attending with us please email Roz Montgomery.

HCAA Monthly Meetings

Every month the Hamilton County Airport Authority (HCAA) meets to discuss the Indianapolis Executive Airport. The public is welcome to attend. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Hamilton County Government and Judicial Center. The address is One Hamilton County Square, Noblesville, IN.
