JOSEPH UPDATE
The week prior to a theatrical performance is sometimes referred to as Tech Week. Tech Week for  Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor ® Dreamcoat will be the week of May 15. There will be dress rehearsals for all students K-Gr. 8 during the school day on May 15 , 18 , and 19 (Mon., Thu., and Fri.) beginning at 8:40 AM and finishing by lunchtime.

Students in the chorus will not have any after-school rehearsals. Those in the cast and middle school students who are on stage crew and tech crew will have after-school rehearsals the week of May 15 . The directors will give those students more specifics in the near future and will be understanding of scheduling conflicts such as band and track obligations.

Costumes for the chorus will be simple—jeans on the bottom and a special t-shirt provided by the school on the top. The directors will be telling the crew what to wear, and the cast will be in costume.

Immanuel's performance of  Joseph  will be May 19 at 6:30 PM. As a reminder, all students in K-Gr. 8 have a role in the musical and are expected to be present for the performance unless they have notified Mrs. Laughlin that they have unavoidable commitments that prevent them from participating.

K-8 END OF YEAR CHANGE
Parents have spoken--and in response, ILS is t rying something new! F amily Fun & Field day and K-8 Closing Worship have been combined into one event on the same day. Tw o half days in a row were problematic for some working parents. It is hoped that this change will make the end of the school year a calmer experience for all ILS families. The a ttendance and worship certificates that are usually distributed at the closing service will be sent home with report cards; s ummer baptism birthday certificates will be distributed during chapel on Wed., May 17.  Hard copies of flyers with complete information on this change were sent home with students today. Questions? Please contact the school office.

KINDERGARTEN CHANGE
This past week ILS said good-bye to Corrinne Ellis, who was the morning Kindergarten aide. We were sorry to see her go, but wish her all the best in her new endeavors and look forward to seeing her and her family at worship on the weekends. We welcome Monica Talbot-Bowe, Carly's (Grade 1) mom and ILCS nursery worker and ILS substitute, who will finish the year as the morning Kindergarten aide. Welcome to the classroom, Monica!

SPIRIT WEAR
ORDERS AND PAYMENTS DUE MAY 1
Because of the way the spirit wear supplier separates their work, embroidery orders and screen printed items must be on separate sheets. Make sure to include names on all sheets. Order sheets are available here.

MANNA COORDINATOR
A new Manna Program coordinator is needed for the 2017-2018 school year. Split the job with another parent for half the work and twice the fun! Those interested in learning more are asked to please contact Donna Allspach at  [email protected] for more information.
