Here's what we hope to accomplish with our vigilance at the polls in an smaller election like the municipals:
1) Determine where the biggest flaws still exist systemically far ahead of the 2018 primary. With the help of the County Board and Election Protection teams, and election volunteers, we will gather data to encourage certain procedures and create acceptable standards of judge behavior and equipment handling with the new Executive Director at the Election Commission right away.
2) Support our township teams running in the municipals.
3) Give our incumbent Highway Commissioner in Wayne, Martin McManamon, every chance to retain that seat making sure proper procedures are followed in all Wayne polling places.
4) Teach our many brand new volunteers best poll watching practices and help them become competent and comfortable working election day and creating a positive and fair atmosphere in their polling places.
5) Encourage our poll watchers to report back on the judges whose behavior suggests that we should ask for them to be replaced before the 2018 cycle gets underway. These reports will be turned into DuPage Election Commission's new ED Joe Sobecki with a request for removal which the Election Protection team will help follow up on in the ensuing months.

We will be making GOTV phone calls out of our Lombard HQ (how to find us) on April 2nd, 3rd and 4th from 1-8. Bring your cell phone and we'll provide the scripts and lists and maybe even some laughs and a snack or two. You can call ahead at 630-629-1125 to say you are coming or just pop in during those hours. We'll make you feel right at home.
