Professor Ann Wallace presents THE FUN OF MATH from 3 years old to first grade

As developmentally appropriate practices finds its way into the classrooms, teachers are learning more and more about the importance of making numbers make sense. Number sense allows children to build a strong intuition about how numbers relate to the real world and how they interrelate to one another. This intuition creates a foundation for growing interest in exploring numerals and seeing them a wide variety of ways.  This workshop will focus on how teachers can talk about numbers (number talks) to promote each child’s sense of numbers.
